Default How do I stop my replies to email appearing in a smaller font?

Has anyone figured this out? I see a lot of comments but no help. I believe
my issue is the same.

When I send an e-mail, the font is Arial 11 or 12. However, when a reply
comes back, my original message is transformed to Times New Roman 10. I have
changed every font setting that I can find but to no avail.

My messages are the correct font, the replies I recieve from others are
correct, my responses to them are correct. The only font that is incorrect
is the return of my original message. It drives me nuts but I don't know how
to stop it.

Any help is appreciated.

This has bugged me for months and months now. I've altered "Settings" under
"Options" for fonts and generally get my preference for "New mail", but
clicking on a link address on a webpage will always use Calibri 11 point
(Windows default) no matter what my local preferences say. The mail page
that opens will have my default Arial font used for the header, but always
uses Calibri 11 point for body text. This is driving me crazy... no options
seem to exist for a global font rule. I want Arail 14 point used in every
occasion, but am seemingly unable to make Outlook 2007 do this. Any help
much appreciated.

Most likely the other person has their system configured to quote your
message with a smaller font. Nothing you can do about that.

You could test that by having a "conversation" with yourself where you
send messages from Outlook to another account (Gmail perhaps?) see how
it's received, reply, see how that's received in Outlook, reply...

This post has eliminated an very annoying problem for me. Thank you very much
Annie!

"Annie" wrote:

I had this problem and it drove me insane before I stumbled on the answer on
office help. It is the zoom view setting that needs adjusting.

You can adjust the zoom view in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 in two ways —
by using your mouse wheel button, or from within Outlook itself.

Use a mouse wheel button to change the zoom
If you have a pointing device, such as the Microsoft IntelliMouse pointing
device, that has a wheel button, you can use the wheel button to zoom in on,
or out of, the body of a message.

Click the message body.
Press and hold CTRL while you rotate the wheel button to zoom in or out.
Use the Ribbon controls to change the zoom
The zoom level of the message view can be changed in the Ribbon, which is
part of the Microsoft Office Fluent user interface.

Click the message body.
On the Format tab, in the Zoom group, click Zoom.
In the Zoom dialog box, under Zoom to, click 100% for the default size, or
use the other options to specify a custom zoom size.

Note When the zoom view is changed, the setting is persistent on all
future messages you compose, reply to, or forward.

I wish it was this simple. This font change occurred when I received a
replacement laptop. I know that not all of the people I communicate with use
the font in question not would everyone have changed their fonts in one week.
So I am sure there is something in my computer. There is a default set
somewhere that I cannot find.

Thanks for the suggestion. Any other ideas?

Is your cursor in the body of the compose window when you try to
increase/decrease the zoom?
