Can't copy 2003 files to 2007 Ouutlook
Try as I might when I acess my DVD to copy files I try to uncheck the Reda
Only box but it will not let me. Trying to copy the files while the box is checked doen't work at all. I have read the How-to articles and done what they said but its very complcated. So far I have been able to get the messages copied but the calendar and Contacts don't come over. Is there a specific file I need to get to in each case? |

Is there a specific file I need to get to in each case? Presumably from the little detail you have given us you are trying to put your Outlook 2003 data into Outlook 2007 from a DVD? In Windows Explorer, copy the pst file to your HDD. Do NOT overwrite any existing pst file. Then remove any Read-Only attribute that is set. Then in Outlook do File-Open-Outlook Data File. You then have 2 choices. 1. Either copy the data from the old file to the new (if the pst file is in 97-2002 format) or 2. Set the new file as the Default Delivery location (Control panel-Mail-Data Files) BTW, you may have corrupted your mail profile by doing what you possibly have done. If nothing works properly, create a new profile (Control Panel-Mail-Show Profiles-Add) HTH |

Presumably you refer to outlook data files?
Copy them to your hardisk, not the default location but eg My Documents. In Explorer check or set the read only flag to off. Within Outlook, File OpenData File.....browse to the location. All data is contained within the pst file "Boze" wrote in message ... Try as I might when I acess my DVD to copy files I try to uncheck the Reda Only box but it will not let me.
