Can't deploy Office 2003 SP1 with a GPO
I use an administrative installation point and a custom MST file to deploy
Office 2003 and need to include SP1 as part of the installation. I have tried every solution on the Microsoft web site and everything I can find in this newsgroup and NOTHING works! SP1 never installs, so I patched my adminstrative installation point and now I can't even deploy Office 2003 with the GPO. I now have to completely recreate my installation point on the network. Does anyone have a working solution to deploy SP1 through a Group Policy? |

Are you deploying as assigned to PC?
Then make sure that the computer object have Read Access to the Group Policy and to the administrative installation share. Just create a group and place your computer objects that you want to deploy Office to in that group and give that group read permissions on the GPO and share. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] www.howto-outlook.com Tips of the month: -What do the Outlook Icons Mean? -Create an Office 2003 CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 1 ----- "eots2" wrote in message ... The computer objects have all the requried access. The Office installation
was working properly until I patched the installation point with SP1. I will have to reinstall the unpatched Office to my installation point and start over, but I still need a way to deploy SP1 with Office 2003. This is where I need help, nothing I've tried worked, Office always installed but SP1 would not. "Roady [MVP]" wrote: Are you deploying as assigned to PC? Hi Eots,
If the Office Admin Point is at the Office 2003 SP1 level and you deploy/install from that Admin Point there really isn't a way for the install to not be SP1. Can you explain how you created the Admin point and how you then updated it to SP1 plus how you then deployed or redeployed/recached the client install from that Admin point? If you setup a client manually from that admin point do you get the same results? What update process have you selected from those in the Office resource Kit (http://microsoft.com/office/ork ) ======== "eots" wrote in message ... The computer objects have all the requried access.
