How do you save a switchboard?
I have a file that was used in Access 2003 for years, they recently updated
the system to Vista and Office 2007, now the file does not work. What I've found is that the paths to the macros no longer exist so I was going to recreate them. I did so, all buttons now work appropriately but I can't save the file. I went to save as and it only saves as a Form or Report??? I just want to save the file on my hard drive again to update it. If I goto save as and select save as 2007 it tries to close my file and convert it. If I just hit save it doesn't do anything because when I try to close the program it prompts me to "save the design of the form "Switchboard"". How the heck do you just save the original file???? How do you save a switchboard?
Hi Ryan,
You create a backup. The quick way is to hold down Alt key while pressing F then M then K. Jeanette Cunningham MS Access MVP -- Melbourne Victoria Australia "Ryan L." Ryan wrote in message ... How do you save a switchboard?
When I do this it says, "do you want to save changes to the design of form
"Switchboard"?. If I click yes, the window closes, nothing happens. If I click no it allows me to backup the file as a new name (or same) but when I reopen the file none of my work saved. The actions for the buttons still give me an error, where as when I attempted to backup the file the buttons (macro's) were working. Any ideas? Ryan L. How do you save a switchboard?
Try this sequence.
Close the switchboard and save it when prompted. Close any other open forms. Open the switchboard and check that the buttons work as intended. Make any needed changes and save and close the switchboard. Now make a backup of the database. Jeanette Cunningham MS Access MVP -- Melbourne Victoria Australia "Ryan L." wrote in message ...
