Default Can't uninstall Office

PC has Office 2K Pro installed on a Win98 SE PC that was upgraded to XP. They
have Disk 2 and their license key but they lost Disk 1. When trying to start
Outlook get a message asking for Office install CD. (msi1) I tried using Disk
1 from other installations but it says they are the wrong version. So I
wanted to uninstall and reinstall with other media and their license key. But
when I go to CP, Add remove Programs, Office 2K is not in the list.

How can I uninstall Office when it is not in the Add Remove Programs list?

TIA

Bob

Office 2000 is uninstalled by running Setup from CD1 and choosing the
Uninstall option. Earlier and later versions of Office can be
uninstalled from Control Panel.

Thank you for your post. I can't use CD 1 because the user lost it. I have
tried other Disk1 CD's but they don't work because i get a wrong version
message. The bottom line is how do I uninstall Office 2K without the CD and
without an entry in Add Remove programs. I am sure there is a way to delete
registry entries and files. I also can't reinstall because the install
routine tells you to uninstall the existing install first.

Thanks for any help.

You should be able to use another Office 2000 CD1 if it is exactly the
same version (Standard, Small Business, Professional, or Premium) as
what is currently installed. The only other proper way I can think of
is Really Ugly... format the drive, reinstall the operating system, and
reinstall the programs.

Thanks again for your post. I know I can use a Disk 1 if I can locate one and
you are right I can always reload the system from scratch.

I would like a Microsoft MVP will see this post and give me a list of
registry entries to delete after I delete the files so the install routine
does not recognize the old install.

Thank You

Bob
