Default Locking(?) a Table Position in a Word Template

Hello All,

After much work I finally have a document with a table positioned and
propertied exactly as need to have the information appear through an envelope
window. I would like to share this document via a template, however, I am
concerned about folks messing with the table. The users will need to be able
to insert information above and below the table, but the table musn't change
position.

As a further complication, the user needs to be able to insert text in the
table and make changes to text font, paragraph spacing, etc.

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hello All, again,

Somehow, someway I made it worked.

After adding some paragraphs above the table, which made the table move, I
dragged the table to my desired location. After that when I added paragraphs
above the paragraphs "skipped" past the table and just continued below,
leaving the table in it's desired postion.

HOWEVER, I can't seem to do it again. I stumbled upon something and can't
remember the exact steps. At least now I know that it can be done, but how
(did I do it)?

Figured it out.

There is a property. Table|Table Positioning|Move With Text[uncheck].

Easier than I thought. Please pardon these posts.

Where did you find this option? I am using Word 2002 and am not able to
locate it.

Thanks,

Chad

Hello Chad et. al.

Good question, Chad.

I left out one step out out in my description. Go to Tables|Table
Properties|Around [select]|Move With Text [uncheck].

I tested it by creating a table in the middle of a few one line paragraphs.
After that just do some ctrls and you'll see that the text just jumps over
the table.

Pretty cool and handy when putting tables in templates.

Thanks for the check.
