Subforms
Good morning,
I’ve got a main form and 2 subforms. The main form was created as a new blank form and 2 forms were dragged onto it as subforms. The 2 subforms share a common field. My goal is to synchronize the 2 subforms with each other. 1. I placed an unbound textbox on the main form 2. In the OnCurrent event of the first form, I passed the value of the common field to it in code – unbound textbox = me.textbox 3. In the second form I set master link to the unbound textbox and the child link to the common field. After saving and closing everything, I re-open the form and the common field in the second form prompts for a parameter value. It is as if it does not see the value assigned. Oddly, if I change the value in the first form, the prompt appears again but the field is then populated with the value. It is obvious that it is in fact ‘seeing’ the value assigned but I am stymied as to why this is occurring. Can anyone shed some light on this? Subforms
One additional note: seems that if both child and master NAMES are the same
the problem is alleviated. If this is correct, how are child and master fields with different names handled? vbnetman wrote: Good morning, I’ve got a main form and 2 subforms.
