Default How can I transfer settings in Office 2007?

I haven't looked at the two tools, so I don't know how easy they are...

Does that mean you just cannot transfer settings between Office 2007
installations easily when you are using Windows XP?

I think transferring settings is an essential functionality for large
companies...

You need to use a Vista tool. You have a choice among two:

If there's no solution for Windows XP customers that's very bad anyway...

The second tool might work for XP to XP. Check it out.

I just downloaded the "Windows User State Migration Tool (USMT) version 3.0"
but it says "Setup cannot update your USMT files because the language
installed on your system is different from the update language".

There should be no previous USMT installation on my system so maybe I'll
just have to wait for a German version.

Anyway, thank you again for this hint.

Just thought I would toss in my 2 cents. I did try USMT 3.0 with various
configurations and combinations of Windows XP and Winddows Vista running
Office 2007 and found it to work pretty well, though I think the
documentation will not make it very useful to the variety of personal users
who probably found the Office 2003 wizard to be just the ticket. It can,
indeed, be used for XP-to-XP files and settings transfers, albeit with
somewhat less convenience for someone who only wishes to transfer Office
settings and data. The wizard which comes with Vista itself works pretty well
for handling XP-to-Vista and Vista-to-Vista transfers, and is quite a bit
more convenient for someone who doesn't need to do this very often. But USMT
seems to be quite a bit more powerful and customizable and should work well
for corporate use.
