Default Unable to select a value from combo box

Hi Everybody,
I have an unbound combo box on an unbound form. The the default value for
the combo box is set using the On Load event of the form. When I open the
form in Form View, I cannot select any value from the drop down list other
than the default. However, it all works fine once I go to design view and
then back to form view. The property settings of the combo box are Enabled:
Yes; Locked: No. The Allow Edits property of the form is set to Yes. I do not
undestand what prevents me from selecting a value and why switching to Design
View and then back to Form View makes a difference. I thank you for your help
in advance.

Create another combo and set it up the same as the one that doesn't work.
If the second one works OK, just delete the one that won't work.
You should also try with a new form, as you may be seeing the beginning of
corruption in that form.

Dear Jeanette,

I have tried both of your suggestions: the problem remained with a new combo
box in the original form, but when I copied the problematic combo box to a
new form it worked as it was supposed to. I take from what you said that my
original form must have been corrupted.
with thanks,
Andras

From your description of the problem and the subsequent resolution, a corrupt
form is pretty sure to have been the culprit! Glad you got it fixed!

By the way, forms do get corrupted during the development process.
Here is a link that explains about corruption during development
