All Text left justified and overlaid
MS Word 2003
Citrix We have a customer that continues to have this problem. We are unable to recreate it in our office. The mail merge function is being invoked programatically and works for everyone except this customer site. Every line of output in the mail merge document is all scrunched up (technical word) and left justified. Completely unreadable. Some pages print OK others don't. We have had the customer rebuild the template documents. Sometimes this helps other times it doesn't. Does anyone have a clue as to what's going on here? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I don't, especially, but some thoughts... a. what choices can your customers make as far as the Citrix environment is concerned (I'm more familiar with TS and only on nodding terms). e.g. can they choose local printers versus remote printers? Is this customer making different choices? b. what if this client renames Word's Data key in the Windows registry - e.g. for Word 2003 look at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\W ord\Data c. can the customer successfully save the merge output as either a .doc or a .rtf, or possibly even a WordProcessingML .xml file? Or does Word hang/crash when attempting that? If they can, if you can examine the .rtf/.xml and spot any really significant differences? (i.e. you may be able to do a text compare on a merge done /on their site/ with the same data and template, and on a "successful" site with the same inputs.
