too many psts when setting up outlook 2003 for hotmail
I had 2003 configured with a single pst for my hotmail to come in and for my
archived folders. when i set it up now, it wants to configure a outlook pst, another pst for my hotmail, and then my archive pst. no matter what i do, i cannot get my hotmail to send to a single pst which is also my archived folders. |

This is normal because your hotmail account can't support certain special
default folders that Outlook needs. (The same happens when working with IMAP accounts) "vball" wrote in message ... too many psts when setting up outlook 2003 for hotmail
from what i am reading elsewhere, i tend to agree with you BUT.......about 6
mths ago, i had my outlook 2003 confgd with a single PST which my email came into it AND it was a single large pst file, located on my server. but since i cannot get it to work that way, how can get my outlook to show a single pst for incoming hotmai? then i can just open my other pst file as an archive folder. As I said you can't. Hotmail is treated just like an IMAP account because
it can't support the special folder types Outlook needs to function. As for the 6 month comment, I can fathom a guess that you where working with a POP3 or Microsoft Exchange account.
