Default can not select delimiters with txt source

I have a comma delimited file that I want to use for the
merge. Actually I have a few different files with
different data. The first file I tried works fine. The
second file that I try to use (click on Open Data Source)
prompts to confirm data source (and I choose txt) but
does not prompt for "header record delimiters". It just
opens the file and then never ever sees any of the fields.

I have tried regenerating both files and still the same
outcome: success for the first and nothing for the second
file. They are both generated in the exact same way but
come from different input data.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Let's start with the version of Word we're dealing with,
here?

Are the field names exactly the same for both sources?

You say "It just opens the file and then never ever sees any
of the fields". So, when you open the list of field names,
what do you see?

How many fields do the two data sources contain?
