Default Date format in Word/Access merge document

I am using access data in a word mail merge document and all the sudden it is putting the time in all the dates. I tried going to Access and changing the date property but it still display 05.19.2004 12:00AM. How can I get rid of the time?

Hi Johnny,

You can fix this by adding a date switch to your merge field. to do this:
1) select the field and press Shift-F9 to expand the field code. It should
look something like {MERGEFIELD AccessDate}
2) just inside the right field brace, insert \@ "M d yyyy", so that your
field looks like {MERGEFIELD AccessDate \@ "M d yyyy"}
3) Press F9 to update the field.

You can also use other date formats (eg "dddd, d MMMM yyyy"). See Word's
help file for more details.

Cheers
