Default copy tab settings from one line to another?

High-light the line, adjust the tab slides as shown in the graphic. You can set each
individual line with their own tab stops as long as there is a return after the line.

The lines are not adjacent to each other, and there are already text in the
lines. E.g.

line1 line1 line1 line1
line2 line2 line2 line2
line3 line3 line3 line3

Pretend the spaces above are tabs.
Now let's say I change the first line into

line1 line1 line1 line1

by adjusting the tabs. Again, pretend the spaces are tabs.
How do I make the tabs on line3 look like line1 but leave line2 alone?

I do not understand you problem.
If you make a text box then set some tabs now type in the box,
if you let the text autoflo at the end of the line the tabs will appear
in the new line,
If you press enter for a new line the tabs will appear in the new line.

What else are you doing and what version of Pub are you using?

Here's the procedu

Mark the line you want to copy format from (line1.....).
Click the "Format Painter" icon (looks like a paint brush) on the tool line.
Mark teh line you want to copy the format (inclusive of tabs) to (line

Another answer now I know you want to copy tabs from one line into more
lines already typed.

Select all the lines then set the tabs and they will be set for all.

Problem is, he said he wanted to copy from line 1 to line 3, leaving line 2
alone. I can't get Publisher 2003 to allow me to select just lines 1 and 3,
without line 2. Can you?

Yes, I can... I should have thought of it myself (the Painter).
