dabs.com. Its a genuine licence.

So, the PC you purchased had a non-activated version of Office pre-installed
and you purchased the computer from dabs.com also. If this is correct then
contact dabs.com for information on purchasing the media. If any of this is
incorrect, then this is not a properly purchased license.

Dabs.com has been selling the MLKs as a valid license for a long time and
Microsoft has, unfortunately not shut them down or required them to specify
exactly who should purchase the license key. Also, there should be a UK
Microsoft site to purchase the media from similar to the second URL I gave
on my previous post.

I think we are going way off topic here.

I am going to assume the answer to my original post is NO and I will
have to download it from a non Mcrosoft source.

Return it to Dabs, under Distant selling regs
You purchased the incorrect item, you require a boxed version of Office,
either upgrade, oem, or retail, and the specific version for your particular
circumstances

NB an upgrade version is only suitable if you have a qualifying produce, a
trial is not a qualifying product
an oem version can only be installed once and the licences dies with that
PC, ie cannot be transferred to a new PC
A retail version is sold in many flavours

Dave

I have to agree with LVTravel on this one. In short go back to dabs and take it up
with them. You probably got some sort of Trial which is how it sounds to me

No you can't download the MLK versions from anywhere. Please also note that your
serial key won't work with downloaded trial versions from Microsoft's own
Website.

I suspect, your only option is to buy Student's version for £60 from AMAZON

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Office-2007-Student-Licence/dp/B000HCZ8EO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1241723936&sr=1-1

Hope this helps.

You can download all you want from whatever source. Have fun with the
malware that will probably be included with the download. The only way to
correct this issue is to do exactly what I said, contact dabs, get them to
refund the purchase price and/or get them to credit it to a retail version
of the software. You have purchased an incorrect license and there is no
amount of argument to correct the problem. We are NOT off topic here. This
is totally on topic as you asked how to obtain the installation media. I
have told you!

Curious;
You can buy the MLK, from dabs, amongst others, but what media (dvd/cd) are
you supposed to have in order to use it?
I note there is no warning / requirement on dabs site for this purchase (I
believe dabs is part of BT)

That is why I stated on the post I have left quoted above that Microsoft has
not "shut them down." Dabs is not the only company doing this.

Even Amazon.com sells it this way"

"Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Medialess License Kit for System
Builders - 1 pack [LICENSE ONLY]

But they do have this disclaimer on the site "PLEASE NOTE: No discs are
included in this package. This package contains a product key that will
activate a full version of this software on a Microsoft Office-ready PC
only. The product key will not activate any volume license installation or
other 2007 Microsoft Office suite."

In support of DABS.com they do specify the following on their web site:
http://www.dabs.com/products/hp-micr...20Professional

"This Medialess License Kit (MLK) for Microsoft® Office Professional 2007 is
only intended for sale with a new Microsoft Office Ready PC, and is priced
accordingly.

The Media-less License Kit is a Microsoft Office License that includes a
product key - but no installation media (CD). The Medialess License Kit for
Microsoft® Office Basic 2007, Microsoft® Office Small Business 2007 or
Microsoft® Office Professional 2007 keys can only unlock unique
installations of Microsoft Office Professional 2007 pre-installed by the PC
manufacturer. These computers are identified by the manufacturer as
Microsoft Office Ready PCs.

The key inside the Medialess License Kit will not activate downloadable
Microsoft Office Trial versions, or retail packaged product. Please be sure
that you have a Microsoft Office Ready PC before purchasing a Microsoft
Office Medialess License Kit."
