Default E-mail settings after install

I get a message to that the 'connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable'
after I have installed Outlook. I do not want to setup my email that way. I
have uninstalled and reinstalled Office but still get this message. Is there
any way around this so I can setup email with a POP?

Thanks!

Use the Mail applet in Control Panel to remove the Exchange account and add
the type of account you want.
