The Search function on the Microsoft webpage is broken; I've never been able
to get it to work.

What you can do instead is use a competitor's product:
http://groups.google.com. Use Advanced Search to search for your posts, e.g.
searching for in the From line.

The Microsoft online user interface that you're using has had several
problems lately and no one is falling all over themselves to get them fixed.
It never, by the way, had the kind of filtering that a good newsreader
provides. Outlook Express, which comes/came free with most versions of
Internet Explorer has newsreading capabilities. These "microsoft.public"
newsgroups are available from a free news server at news.microsoft.com.

Some search engines might do a decent job of this. You could probably also
type your name into the "Search For:" box and click Go.

If you are using a news reader, there are probably better solutions. I
typically change the color of my posts for greater visibility.

Outlook Express is gone, though, with the advent of Vista. Windows Mail is
the Vista equivalent, which is what I'm using. I believe that for Windows 7
you have to use Windows Live Mail; I think it has similar newsgroup support.
