office installer launches every time a microsoft product is launch
Have an older dell pc that was upgraded to win xp, came with microsoft works.
just bought a copy of office 2003 and installed it. all apps in office 2003 work fine under my user profile (admin). whenever one of the other users on this pc attempts to launch word, excel, or IE the office installer wizard pops up and starts trying to install office. a solution would be appreciated since I dont want my kids to need to use the computer under my profile |

Did you all the Installer to install the necessary files? It's trying to
setup Office for their profile. Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Yes, I ran a full install. After this first install, I uninstalled office
2003, uninstalled microsoft works, and ran the full install again. I dont see any other options in the install that might do something more. Arun,
no luck. I uninstalled microsoft office, then in the run window typed: D:\SETUP.EXE allusers=1 selected the "typical install." office installed fine. all apps open fine under my username. switched to my daughters user profile and as soon as i launch word, get a continuous cycle of microsoft office installers. Hi,
I'm having a similar problem. I'm running WinXP and just installed (and re-installed) Office 2003. Everything works fine under an administrator account, but everytime I use a Limited User account to launch any Office app the Windows Installer launches and reloads Office. If I change the Limited User account to an admin account it works; as soon as I change it back to Limited User and launch an app, the Windows Installer launches again. I've searched the net and seen mention of the same problem, but no real solutions posted, only suggestions that so far have not helped. Randy Collins "SkierBruce" wrote in message ... Arun, no luck. I'm having the same problem, haven't tried the solution provided by Arun yet.
I am running XP SP3 and this happens with both Office 2003 and Office XP. Admin runs fine, but user profiles load "like first time" each time they are initiated. I'm somewhat puzzled by this since there is so much importance placed on using non-admin user profiles in XP. |

Thank you for your suggestion, I just tried it and then re-installed Office
and updates only to find that I am back where I started. Admin works fine, other users each time a program is started, it begins loading all over again and also -- I didn't say this earlier, but it gives a message about stdole32.tlb being damaged or missing. After it goes through an agonizingly long time of loading, it will finally work but repeats the same behavior each and every time the program is started anew. I have the same problem except it does it for all users, even admin. And it
will not let me uninstall the trials I used before I got the licensed Professional Plus 2007. And I can't download Installer 3 because I have 2007. And I have SP1 for Office but the download scan doesn't show it. I've tried system restore with no luck. It's been doing this for a couple of months now & I'm really sick of it.
