Default can the product i.d. number be used in place of product key code?

i need the product key code to continue installing microsoft to my laptop but
i msplaced the product key code. Can i get another code or can i find the
original code by the product i.d. number?

As JoAnn asked, "Microsoft what?"

Consider also, the whole poiint of the Product Key is to thwart piracy and
theft. If you have a product, but no key code, MSoft is going to want an
assurance it is a valid copy. Having said that, Microoft Support is the key
to your answer. You'll have to give them a call.
