Why no message generate to outbox of Outlook
When I use Windows Vista, Office 2003 or Office 2007 to make mail merge to
email. It work fine. After I make a clean install of Windows 7 or Windows 2008 and use Windows 2003 or Windows 2007. The Mail format can only work fine when mail format is HTML. No message generate to outbox of Outlook if mail format is Plain Text or Attachment. Any opinion? |

Why no message generate to outbox of Outlook
Personally, I wouldn't run Word on Win 2008 but I haven't yet tried Word
on Win 7. Will plain text/attachment work if you set Windows Mail to be your email client rather than Outlook 2003/2007? Why no message generate to outbox of Outlook
As my previous said that Mail Merge work fine on Windows Vista, Office 2003
or Office 2007. Windows Mail is not exist in Windows 7. It is replace by Windows Live Mail. I have try to set Windows Live Mail as default mail client. But I got error message when use Mail Merge and no message generate to outbox of Windows Live Mail.. The error message is : Logon failed. You must log on to Microsoft Exchange to access you address book. Error code: "Unspecified error". Why no message generate to outbox of Outlook
OK - interesting that winmail.exe is actually provided with Win 7 but is (a)
hidden and (b) does not work when you try to run it. My guess is that it is not properly signed. Just guessing here, but two possibilities seem likely to me: a. the extended MAPI files (that would normally be installed when you install Outlook) have not been properly installed on Win 7 or Win 2008. It could be worth (i) trying to repair your installation, (ii) locating and using fixmapi.exe b. Word is still trying to use simple MAPI for plain text and "attachment" merges, and support for simple MAPI is no longer installed (perhaps as a byproduct of the fact that neither Win 7 nor Win 2008 comes with a working version of Winmail.exe) However, what to do about that is another question. It's probably worth posting a question on the Windows 7 forums and seeing if anyone replies. I'd do it myself if I was in a position to replicate the problem here, but that won't be for a few days.
