save merged document as regular document
I have a merged document that has to be saved seperately for each individual.
How do I do this? In 2003 you could go under View/Toolbars/Mailmerge/ and click on something to unlink the document from the recipient list. |

See the “Individual Merge Letters” item on fellow MVP Graham Mayor’s website
at: http://www.gmayor.com/individual_merge_letters.htm If you are using Word XP or later, the “Add-in to Merge Letters to Separate Files” that I have written and that can be downloaded from that site will allow you to create each letter as a separate file with a filename taken from a field in the data source with a minimum of fuss. If that information is of use to you, please do consider contributing to the maintenance of that website to ensure its continued availability. BTW, while you can in all versions of Word convert a mail merge main document to a normal Word document and that will unlink it from the recipient list, Neither in Word 2003 nor any other version does it save the documents created by executing the merge separately for each individual. -- Hope this helps. Please reply to the newsgroup unless you wish to avail yourself of my services on a paid consulting basis.
