Clarify your question. Outlook has no fax. What made you think it did?

Outlook 2000 does have WinFax SE capabilities, and it loads automatically,
once you have configured it, which is offered to you, as soon as you start Outlook 2000. WinFax Starter Edition comes with MS Office 2000 as a default feature. Both have been out of support for years and WinFax SE never did work.
No supported versions of Outlook contain fax software. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "RJ Moore" wrote in message ... Russ, do you remember why it did not work? I just sent a test fax from
outlook, following the instructions, and it was great. My system crashed blue screen after, but it sent it ok, and I received it at the destination number perfect. It saved the sent fax as a sent email, which is fine. On completing a restart, it automatically repeated sending the fax, which was also received perfectly, and then crashed blue screen again, and on another restart, it began to repeat, once more, but I cancelled it, and got an email advising me the fax had been cancelled. So, without looking into the blue screen messages, as yet. The WinFax SE seemed to works fine. Prior to this, I was experiencing some lack of memory issues. No doubt about it Russ, there is no problem with WinFax SE, and the reason
why my system was crashing with blue screens, is because I had closed the WinFax process from the Task Manager in my NT4 SP6a dual P166 192 MB RAM system, with only 75 MB of RAM left, and sending the fax from Outlook with WinFax opened the WinFax app again, overloading my RAM. The WinFax app, which opens automatically when you open Outlook, must be open, before you fax, or you must have more CPU or RAM, not sure which, but more than I have. Russ is on vacation.
If WinFax SE is working for you count your blessings. It was quickly discontinued because it was so unreliable and demanded so much support. -- Ken Slovak [MVP - Outlook] http://www.slovaktech.com Author: Absolute Beginner's Guide to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Reminder Manager, Extended Reminders, Attachment Options http://www.slovaktech.com/products.htm "RJ Moore" wrote in message ...
