start word with certain file
I use word 2000 and 2003 (different machines).
When I start Word, I want Word to start always with a certain file. I know I can make a shortcut to that file and put it on my desktop. I also know that in Excel, I can put a file in a special directory (XLSTART). When I start Excel, Excel will then open this file. Is there something similar in Word? |

Yes. Although the Help article "Control what happens when you start Word" or
"Customize how Word starts" gives some startup switches that can be used with Word, it does not include the one you need for this purpose. For this, see “WD: Word Startup (Command-Line) Switches and Their Purpose” at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=210565 -- Suzanne S.
