Sending replies to emails
I am now using OE6. Some time ago when using OE5 I found a way to use a
vertical line instead of "" when replying to an email. I would like to revert to "" rather than the vertical line, but I can't find out how to do it. Can anyone help? |

Go up to: Tools - Options - Send tab - Look down to "News sending format" on the Send tab; next to it is a "Plain text settings" button - hit it; On the resulting window at the bottom, there's a drop-down menu for which symbol you want to use. You can change it back to "" with OE-QuoteFix (and you can change many other things, too). http://home.in.tum.de/~jain/software/oe-quotefix/ |

Sending replies to emails
Oh *email*, not ng posts - whoops, sorry! (I did read "e-mails", it just
didn't sink in.) But... same thing, I think: just use the button next to mail settings, instead of news, except I *think* you need to use plain text Vs. HTML) for your e-mails in that case. Someone with a lot more knowledge may come along & prove me wrong, needing plain text. Cathy "Cathy Friedmann" wrote in message ... "John Olson" wrote in message ... I am now using OE6. Thanks for the reply. I had previously selected the option you suggest for
text formatted email & newsgroup postings. However, I use HTML format for all emails (not newsgroup postings) that I send. It's been a few years since I found a way to change the "" symbol to a vertical line so I can't say for sure that at that time I used HTML format for sending replies to emails. If I follow the path ToolsOptionsSend, then click the HTML & Html Settings buttons and clear the check box for "Indent..." in the HTML Settings window, the email that I am replying to is not indented and has no formatting characters added. Yes, in HTML the choice is all (vertical line) or none.
