Default PowerPoint Placeholder - HELP!

I'm working with PowerPoint 2007 in the Slide Master. I want to create a new
placeholder on the Content with Subtitle slide. When I click on insert
placeholder, I insert a 'content/text' placeholder, it appears on the slide.
When I go into the Normal view (and get out of the Slide Master view), and I
got to that slide (Content with Subtitle), the placeholder that I inserted
still has a dotted box around it. How can I get this to disappear? THANK YOU!

Default PowerPoint Placeholder - HELP!

I'm a little confused.

The placeholder will have a dotted border that looks like the dotted border
on the original placeholders. They are small dots.

If you click inside the placeholder so your cursor is inside the text, the
dotted border will become more like a dashed-line border. This happens in
Normal or Slide Master View. Is your cursor inside the placeholder?

Also, I don't see a Content with Subtitle slide layout. Is this a layout you
created? Maybe that has something to do with the issue?

When I go into the Normal view (and get out of the Slide Master view), and
I
got to that slide (Content with Subtitle),

How are you going to that slide? Oh, I bet you mean you go to the slide that
uses that layout. What happens if you hit Reset on the Home tab?

Default PowerPoint Placeholder - HELP!

THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Here's what I'm working with:

A PowerPoint template that our marketing dept. created. I went to the Slide
Master view, and noticed that on the Content with Subtitle layout slide,
there was grey lettering: SUBTITLE ALL CAPS GOES HERE or something of that
sort.

When you look at that slide in the Normal view, the grey letters were 'stuck'
on there. You could not remove them, type over them, or edit them. They were
'permanent'.

So, I went back into the Slide Master view and removed them there and
inserted a Placeholder (text).

Make sense?

Let me try your work around!!!

Standby...

It sounds like they put in a regular textbox, not a placeholder. Maybe.

But you can add your own text to the placeholder on the slide master. When
you click in the placeholder in Normal View, that text disappears as you
type....
