links not working HELP HELP HELP

In our office we use copy links in Excel and special paste them into Word
documents and we are having great difficulty updating our links when we open
our documents. Some people can open them and they update automatically -
when I open them up they won't update unless I got to each and every link and
hit update which is a time waster...please help.

PS - I absolutely hate 2007 version with the ribbon - please tell someone -
its a total time waster and is not user friendly - if it ain't broke - don't
fix it!!!!!!!!!! Bad, Bad, Bad Microsoft.

I have to agree with you about the ribbon, and I've been using it now for
over a year.

You may want to check to see if your Update Links is turned on. Press the
button in the Left upper corner, then select excel options, the button near
the bottom right. On the left pane select ADVANCED, then scroll down to the
"When calculating this workbook:" area. Make sure the first box, Update Links
to other documents, is checked. Also, in the left pane select FORMULAS and
make sure WorkBook Calculation is set for Automatic.
