reinstallation difficulty of Office 2007 after hard drive crash
I had Office 2007 installed on my computer. The internal hard drive crashed
and so I was forced to replace the drive. As a result, I had to re-install all software applications. I have since used up all the licenses on the store purchased installation CD. I don't need to purchase a new license, do I? I imagine the license on this computer should allow me to reinstall? Further complicating matters, in haste, I downloaded a trial version so I could get work done... and the trial is set to expire soon. How to I convert the trial version to a registered version without having to repay for a second license? |

You need to uninstall the trial version, any activation assistant and reboot the computer and then reinstall your original product from the original media. Use your original activation key. You don't "use up" all the licenses on the software by reinstalling on the same computer. You can reinstall on the same computer as many times as necessary. The licenses are for concurrent installs on different computers. At the most you will have to use telephone activation which is relatively painless and in most cases totally automated. |

Install as normal, then use the telephone activation. You DO need to uninstall the Trial Version before you reinstall the full version. |

reinstallation difficulty of Office 2007 after hard drive cras
Thanks for info.
I am getting ready to uninstall the trial version of Office 2007. How do I save my information/contacts/etc as a file so that it can be 're-inserted' when I install the complete version of Office 2007? There are many different file types under the import/export option. Thanks. "Jeff Strickland" wrote: "Rob" wrote in message ... I had Office 2007 installed on my computer. ???
Your contacts are not affected. If you want, you can copy the file to a new location then copy it back, but your existing files (documents, spreadsheets, databases, and so on) should not be affected by the upgrade to Office '07.
