Starting Sound Files
PP 2002, Win XP
I know how to embed sound files in a presentation. My problem is: I set the file to start playing in 0.1 second - but it must take at least 15 or more seconds for it to start. How can you make a sound file start almost immediately after the slide appears? Any and all suggestions appreciated. Gwen |

Starting Sound Files
I sounds like it is a very large file. Is it embedded? Is it a WAV file?
You can try to open PowerPoint, open and play the presentation from beginning to end. Then, leaving PowerPoint open, play the presentation a second time. The sound may start faster if it has been cached in memory. -- Sonia, MS PowerPoint MVP Team Autorun CD software, templates, and tutorials http://www.soniacoleman.com/ "Gwen" wrote in message ... Starting Sound Files
Gwen,
Is the sound huge? It may be taking resources to load it. Else, is there any delay set on its settings, time wise? -- Regards, Glen Millar Microsoft PPT MVP http://www.powerpointworkbench.com/ Please tell us your ppt version, and get back to us here Remove spaces from signature Posted to news://msnews.microsoft.com "Gwen" wrote in message ... To start any sound immediately after the slide appears, insert it as a
transition sound. You can only use WAVs as transition sounds though. -- Geetesh Bajaj, Microsoft PowerPoint MVP http://www.powerpointed.com PowerPoint Ezine Issue 42 http://www.indezine.com/ppezine/ "Gwen" wrote in message ...
