Default "Connection to server has failed"

Every time my computer comes out of standby, and I try to receive
mail, Outlook Express sends an error message that says connection to
sever has failed.
I tried closing and reopening Outlook and that does not help.
I have to reboot the computer and then it works normally.
Anyone know a fix for this?
thanks
Howard

Howard: this is not an Outlook Express problem, it is a internet connection
problem. Are you sure that you are connected at that time?

Please post the error message in its entirety and include your Windows

receive e-mail in Outlook and in Outlook Express:
