Default How to stop PowerPoint from snapping view to the center of an obje

In PowerPoint 2007, when you move an object while zoomed, PowerPoint
automatically snaps the view to the center of that object after you have
moved it, resized it, etc.

This is extremely annoying behavior when you are trying to make small
adjustments to PowerPoint layouts near the borders of the object you are
working with. It forces you to reset screen position every time you tweak the
object.

Can this setting be modifed so that PowerPoint 2007 behaves just like the
good old earlier version of PowerPoint?

Thanks!

This is a known annoyance in PPT 2007. It certainly doesn't lend itself to
efficiency, does it.
