Default Movie hic cups at start

We have a two small clips inserted in a presentation. In previous PP
versions, the movie display a black screen for a few seconds (loading time)
and then start rolling. In PP2003, same presentation clips start directly,
then freeze, rewind, freeze, then go on. It is a matter of a few seconds but
it is extremely annoying. The presentation runs fine on computers that have
a lot less memory than this bran new laptop. Our IS tech is clueless after
having checked every options of the video card. Any idea what this can be?
Is is a PP2003 setting? Thanks for your help.
