error: check temp environment
Office 2007 on Vista 64 Ultimate
Word and Outlook keeps generating errors "Outlook (Word) could not generate the work file. Check the temp environment variable" I have checked the environment vairable, have changed it, have emptied the folder it uses, have changed the permissions to everyone for full control on the folder, have uninstalled and reinstalled office 2007, have beat my dog, killed my cat, and have pulled all my hair out..... I haven't shot my wife..... YET! (Okay, the last 4 are jokes if you don't get my humor about my level of frustration. I would never hurt an animal. But, if I had a wife....) I am convinced what the error says and what it means may be very different. Or the temp environment variable is internal to Office 2007 and I have no idea where to view it or check the directory and folders. There is tons of Gbs of disk space available. 45 Gb on C, 108 on D, 58 on E, 146 on G and then 93 on M a network disk I use. Any thoughts? David |

error: check temp environment
Have you searched the Microsoft Support Knowledge Base (KB)
(http://support.microsoft.com)? See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302629 Even though the KB article says it applies to Word 2000 I think in your case, method 1 is a good thing to try on any version of Word since 2000.
