OE6 'stored folder' problem
I'm so sorry to be so stupid & pesty but .. when I try to open my folders on
my hard drive (OE6 - Win 98 & 2000, I'm in 98) - 1st of all since I downloaded 2000 they are now on my D drive instead of C, I assume that was an update or because 2000 is newer, & they are all old folders not my current folders & I get an error mssg saying they can't be opened because they aren't 'valid font files.' When I right click I get no 'open with' etc. I know I've done something just don't know what & after asking this question a couple of times here thought I would pose it once more just to see if anyone can help. I've checked the links provided in my previous posts and still can't get to the root of the problem. Thank you in advance - |

OE6 'stored folder' problem
Yes a Windows Explorer box pops up that says 'Font View Application' with an
error mssgs that says: 'the requested file D\ ..(path to file) Inbox.dbx was not a valid font file.' The icons are a white square with a little white square in the middle with the letter 'A' in red. I am really stumped on this one and have not been able to find anything on the web. Any help is greatly appreciated - "PA Bear" wrote in message ... janedoe cogitated deeply and scribbled thusly:

Any help is greatly appreciated - if you are trying to open dbx files from within Windows Explorer then you can't. You have to open dbx files with either OE (easiest!) or an application called DBExtract. Nothing else will work. -- gordonATgbpcomputingDOTcoDOTuk To email me replace the obvious! |

So explain to me, Gordy, since you're so effing smart, why I get the pop up
about the 'FONT' file. Are dbx files font files?? You obviously didn't read the thread from the beginning, and it's people like you - that have nothing better to do with their time than lurk in forums and jerk off at the mouth - that keep people like me from asking for help in the 1st place. And after 'cogitating' very deeply I 'scribbly thusly' that that probably was not the reason this particular NewsGroup was created. "janedoe" wrote in message ... I bet your a blast to be with. Nothing personal. At least you've got a place
to vent right? It's cheaper than therapy, which you seem sorely in need of. You might want to cogitate, ruminate and deliberate over that for awhile "Gordon" wrote in message ... janedoe cogitated deeply and scribbled thusly: Thank you genius.I knew that already. then why in your first post did you say "right-click and choose open with" PLONKER! -- gordonATgbpcomputingDOTcoDOTuk To email me replace the obvious! |
