Default how do i get excel text to change colour at a certain limit

i am setting up an employee absence sheet whereas people are allowed 10 days
sick leave before action is taken, i want my sheet to turn red at number 9 so
that the managers are alerted to have a meeting with the employee before
action is taken, how do i get excel text to change colour at a certain limit

Hi,

While on that cell, navigate to Format Conditional formatting and in the
cell value is, select equal 9. In the box to the right, type 9. Click on
the format button to apply a font or background colour. Click on OK. Now
when the entry in the cell is 9, the cell will appear in the select format.

To copy down/across, copy the cell with the conditional formatting and then
highlight the range over which conditional formatting has to be pasted. Now
press Alt+E+S+T.

Select the entire sheet by clicking on the square between the column
and row labels.
Now Select FORMATCONDITIONAL FORMATTING.
Select the FORMULA IS option Under the CONDITION 1 label.
Enter the following in the formula box to the right: =$A$1=9
Where A1 is the address of the cell that contains the data that is
being monitored
