Default Word XP Mail Merge

Hi,
I have an VB5 App that uses mail merge. It makes a header and data
text file, then converts these two to word docs, then merges them with a
template Doco. The Text files and the resultant converted files are
exactly the same regardless of what versions of office and windows i
have (which is to be expected) but Word XP doesn't merge properly. 97,
2000 & 2003 all work OK but not XP. XP misses records and chops some
strings off.
I have looked on the net and found some code examples which are the
same as the one in the app so they were no help. I have also found some
hints about within word but these also don't work.
Coincidently i tried to do the merge within word with so no luck it
always misses the same records, although i had to attache the header
file to the data one for it to do this.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi all,
Service pack 3 appears to have fixed this.

Thanx :^)
