Default Can’t add a appointment to Outlook 2003

My problem is this.

I am running Office 2003 on Win XP SP1. I have loaded all the patches
for both XP and Office 2003.

In Outlook 2003 if I try to add an appointment in the future say the
11/05/2004 outlook automatically defaults the appointment to Fri
26/03/2004 even though I have first navigated to the Tues 11/05/2004
and clicked on it and selected a time period for that day/appointment.

If I overwrite the start and end dates for the appointment to the
correct time and date it then accepts my values but upon pressing the
save and close button outlook reverts back to it’s own dates, Fri
26/03/2004.

I have repaired the installation, uninstalled and re-installed outlook
and office 2003 but I still get the same result.

Does anyone have any ideas what I could do to fix this problem, it is
driving me nuts.

Regards
Hamish
