Dated Documents
I have dated all of my documents in MS Word 2000. But
when I open them later they default to the current date and does not hold the original date they were created. What can I do to stop this? Please help. |

Dated Documents
What can I do to stop this?
Work from templates (other than normal.dot) that have a CreateDate field in them where you want a date. In the legacy documents, press Alt-F9 to reveal field codes. You'll see either a Date or a Time field. Change "Date" or "Time" in the field to "CreateDate" and press F9 to update the field, then Alt-F9 to hide the codes again. See http://addbalance.com/word/datefields1.htm for information on the different kinds of datefields and how to format them.
