Default Outlook to automatically receive email when connected.

I installed Outlook 2002 from Office XP Pro. I know other people that use
Outlook and when they open Outlook it connects and receives all available
email. I am using Pop3, I have the check box checked for send and receive
when connected and the account is included in the send/receive group. I am
using a LAN in my house and Comcast as the provider with a router before the
modem. The only way I can receive mail is to press F9 or use the send/Receive
button. The program will not receive mail when connected.

Have you defined a send/receive interval? Press CTRL-ALT-S while viewing
the Inbox. Check the box labeled "Schedule an automatic send/receive every"
and enter a value of no less than ten minutes. Having a send/receive
interval defined will also cause Outlook to perform a send/receive upon
startup.
