Default How about some help you guys?

I don't understand. In three years, this is the first time I've posted and
not gotten a reply. Is it my breath? My screen name? I've copied and
pasted this three times now, changing the subject line but nothing else.
I'm supportive of you guys and have always talked you up to everyone I know.

So is there anyone that will reply here?

My Hotmail Plus account is getting full and I need to
transfer some files out of my inbox to somewhere else.

Last two times I moved files to another folder, OE marked all the letters as
unread and "0KB" for a file size for each and every letter making it
necessary to reopen them all, waiting as each one downloaded, etc.

For the record, is there a way to take files out of Hotmail and store them
in a way that will make room for more storage? And do it without closing
all the mail?

Thanks. This newsgroup has been a source of great help to me over the years
and I thank those of you that have given your time to helping clueless guys
like me.

I have no idea how to help you except to say use something else besides
Hotmail. Any Yahoo domain besides yahoo.ca or yahoo.com can be used in
OE and doesn't cause the kind of problems Hotmail causes. One would
think that Microsoft's Hotmail would work with Microsoft's Outlook
Express but, being as Microsoft merely bought Hotmail and didn't create
it or try to improve it, it's really no surprise.

I'm sure this wasn't the reply you wanted but the only time I've ever
had problems with Outlook Express was the two days I put Hotmail on it
and I see a lot of posts in this newsgroup with Hotmail problems, hence,
the above suggestion.

I am unable to help you EXCEPT to say that subject lines that describe a
condition for which you need help are much
much
much
more likely to be read and responded to.

Pointless subject lines like "Help Me!" don't tell us much, now do they?

Sorry rock9995. I saw your posts, but I'm not a Hotmail person. FWIW, less
replies have been seen this weekend probably due to Thanksgiving.

Hi rock9995,

Information about Hotmail issues can be difficult to come by. Most Hotmail
issues are not covered in the Microsoft Knowledge Base, for example. There
is another newsgroup where answers to Hotmail issues might be more
forthcoming. You might try MSN Discussion ...

Thanks for nothing, Ken. Read the title to my other posts one vague, one
specific and nada then.

"Are you creating new folders under the Local folder tree? The MSN Hotmail
folder tree is a local mirror of the remote server. Creating new folders
under the MSN Hotmail folder tree only results in moving the email around on
the server. You should be able to highlight a group of messages and drag
them to the selected local folder. I would recommend using the file menu
system, though, and select the "Copy" function. When manipulating groups of
message I have seen OE barf while relocating, and lost the messages because
they were cleared from the MSN folders (remote server), but never written to
the local HDD."

This looks like it would help. Thank you.

Maybe it is just that nobody knows the answer. No MSFT employees post here
officially as company representatives. All knowledge is peer experience.
If
nobody knows, nobody answers. I've had numerous posts go without answers.

I've copied and pasted this three times now, changing the subject line
but
nothing else.

We are all clueless about some aspect of MSFT products, here. We ask about
things we don't know, and we respond about things we do know.
