Default zoom on selected object

Hi

I'm using Visio2003 - I think that this is the third or fourth version I've
used.

When I learnt on whichever that first version was, zoom would focus on the
selected object - occasionally irritating but usually exactly what I wanted
to do. Now zoom focuses on the middle of the current view, so I have to
scroll around (and possibly zoom out and in again) to find the selected
object.

That old way is so ingrained that I'm still surprised to see my selected
object whizzing off the edge of the view as I zoom in.

Please please please tell me that I can have zoom working in the old way by
changing some buried option or by holding a key down as I click on the +.

I'm sorry if this has already been asked - searched the archives - no joy.

Default Visio Zooming

I use Visio Standard 2003. Like you, I used to be able to zoom on selected objects. However, here are alternatives:

Ctl-Shift-Left Click - zooms in to cursor (mag glass)
Ctl-Shift-Right Click - zooms out from cursor (mag glass)

Ctl-Shift-Left Click-and-drag - zooms in on rectangle
Ctl-Shift-Right Click-and-drag - hand cursor moves dwg

Hope this helps.
