opening established files
Originally purchased Publisher 3.0 for Windows 95. Used
it often. Upgraded to Office 97 and still used Publisher 3.0. Later upgraded to Office 2000. Still using Publisher 3.0. Transfered all my existing files to new Dell 8200 with XP last year. Still able to use Publisher 3.0. Recent hardware problem required reformat of hard drive. Backed up all files to CD at local vendor. Reinstalled XP and all programs. Now I cannot open Publisher files. Error message says cannot load from a different version. All other programs appear to be working as in the past. 3.0 is all I ever had and Office programs do not have Publisher in them. Can you help me? |

Do you have Norton? Disable "script blocking", in options, disable "office plug-ins".
Try this: Right-click any Publisher document, properties, opens with.. point it to Publisher. Sometimes works. There is a help file available for Publisher 3.0; you can download it he PUB: KB Help File on Current Publisher 2.0 & 3.0 Issues http://support.microsoft.com/default...42&Product=pub -- Mary Sauer MS MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://www.mvps.org/msauer/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "jim" wrote in message ...
