How do I sync my phone to windows live mail?
ActiveSync on my windows smartphone will only sync with Outlook. I have Home
& Student Office 2007 which doesn't have outlook; it has Windows Live Mail instead. So I either have to buy Outlook and transfer everything there or once again live with multiple prgms for viewing & managing contacts, emails, etc. What can I do? |

AFAIK, the sync center only works with Outlook, so if you need to buy
outlook if you want to sync calendar and contacts, but you should check with the pocketpc experts to be sure. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com/ Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Do you keep Outlook open 24/7? How do I sync my phone to windows live mail?
The date and time was Mon Oct 12 2009 18:03:11 GMT-0700 (Pacific
Daylight Time), and on a whim, ratherbnsxm pounded out on the keyboard: ActiveSync on my windows smartphone will only sync with Outlook. I have Home & Student Office 2007 which doesn't have outlook; it has Windows Live Mail instead. So I either have to buy Outlook and transfer everything there or once again live with multiple prgms for viewing & managing contacts, emails, etc. What can I do? Does your phone work with Gmail? A lot of them do. If so, create a Gmail account and import everything there. For free. You can still Send As your WLM account in Gmail if you choose to. A month before I picked up my smart phone (Palm Pre), I created a Gmail account and set up my 9 email accounts to work within it, and set up a single contact list that I imported everything from my prior phone and email client. All I had to do on my Pre was enter my login info and it interfaces with Gmail perfectly. No longer do I have email contacts on my mail client, phone contacts on a phone, etc etc. No more syncing back and forth. Made my life much simpler.
