Default emails deleting with single-click

Suddenly I'm having a problem in Outlook with it being "too sensitive"!! I
click once on an item to read it in the preview pane, and the email goes into
the deleted items folder before I even get to see it. I've tried resetting
the click speed through the Control Panel to the slowest setting, and that
hasn't made a difference (I'm running Vista Home Premium adn Outlook 2007).
Any thoughts??

thanks very much!

It shouldn't be deleting even with a double-click. Do you have some kind of
rule running that deletes messages marked as read? You're sure the messages
are going to the Deleted Items folder?
