Default Style Pane in Word 2007

In one of my Word 2007 templates, I have the Styles Pane set to show
recommended styles (Options, bottom of pane); the sort order is "As
Recommended." But not all styles that are given number 1 (in "Manage
Styles") are shown (numerous table styles), and other styles below
number "1" are shown. "Book Title" is showing, for example, even
though I have set it to "last" in "Manage Styles." Some other styles
such as "Intense Reference" are far below number 1 but they still
show. Seems that there is something I don't know. Any ideas, or any
good material online as to this aspect of styles? Thanks,

Ross

Firs, table styles no longer display in the Styles Pane in Word 2007.
Instead they display in the Table Styles gallery on the contextual Table
Tools. Second, The Recommended tab in the Manage Styles dialog box enables
you to set the Recommended order if the Styles task pane is set to sort in
the Recommended order. On that note, did you click the Options link and set
the Styles Pane to show styles As Recommended? It sounds like it might be
set to Alphabetical if Book Title is displaying at the beginning of the
pane.

Thanks, Beth. I was not aware that table styles do not display in the
pane in Word 2007. I am also discovering the "Show", "Hide", and "Hide
Until Used" buttons in the Manage Styles dialog box. How far down the
level list (beneath "1") the Recommended styles show on the pane is
still something of a mystery to me.

It was brought to my attention after I posted my reply that you indicated
you did have the Styles pane set to sort "As Recommended" and I was
wondering if perhaps some of those you weren't seeing were set were set to
Hide or Hide Until Used but I see you found those. :-)

I guess not following what you mean by "How far down the level list (beneath
"1") the Recommended styles show on the pane is still something of a mystery
to me." Are you saying you still have styles that are set to Show that are
not displaying in the correct order on the Styles pane?
