Office Customization Tool
I setup an install of Outlook 2007 by using setup.exe /admin.
It works pretty well, except for applying updates. There's an "Updates" folder with a readme.txt file in it that says any patches placed in this folder will be applied during initial install. I have several folders inside of that folder with updates in them that I have downloaded from windowsupdate.com. They aren't being installed. I'm wondering if it is because when I downloaded it created all of the folders with the patches inside of the folders rather than putting the patches in the root. Also, if I go back and change something, such as run spell check before sending a message, is there a way to deploy that to the computers that have already run setup using the .MSP file that I created with the OCT? Thanks. |

Hi Glenn,
You are exactly correct - the extracted .msp files must be in the root of the folder, along with the .msp created with the OCT. You will need to remove all subfolders. Distribute product updates for the 2007 Office system http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc178995.aspx I'm not exactly clear on what you are asking in the second question, but I believe you are asking about applying a change to the .msp file created with the OCT, post-install? If so, then yes, you can distribute it the same way as with any other .msp; with a comand such as: msiexec /p path\filename.msp /qb- Hope this helps! -- TXGuy [MSFT] "Glenn" wrote: I setup an install of Outlook 2007 by using setup.exe /admin.
