Default How do I get my document to fit to one page in Word?

I have a letter that I type on a frequent basis. Sometimes it goes over one
page & I was wondering if there was a function I might use to make it fit to
one page.

So I explained that to the person who really wanted to know, and of course
they actually meant something else. He has tables in word & wants to know
how to keep the tables from splitting when it is at tne end of the page.
