Default Appearance of controls with Windows XP Style

When I have my Windows display appearance set to XP Style,
Access 2003 control special effects such as sunken,
etched, etc. are not displayed. Also, tab control pages
that are set to a transparent background do not display as
such. Setting display appearances to Windows Classic
remedies the problem.

I had not noticed this problem previously. Is this a known
problem? Is it peculiar to Win XP SP2? Is there another
work-around, patch or other correction, or is one
scheduled?

Thanks.

I do belive that some issues exist with themed contorls.

Here is a few screen shots of themed vs non themed contorls.

No, don't think this is a sp2 issue. I saw some people (some other MVP's
talking (complaining)) about this issue BEFORE sp2, so, likely you did not
notice it.

I do have some tab controls in the above examples, but I not seeing the
problem you describe (but, as mentioned...some have....of course, all my
"old" screens are grey...so I likely don't notice too much!).

I wish a had a better answer for you..but I don't right now.
