Default Lost contact list

Just upgraded to XP Home with many problems and am finding solutions to most.
When I open my mail everything seems OK. I am set up to check mail manually.
All my previous contacts are still im my list. Before when we switched
identies, the contact list stayed the same for all users. Now the contact
list is usually gone when we switch users. Ocassionally the list in there.
When the list is empty and you try to add a name it will report that the
contact already exists.
Thanks

Default Lost contact list

Hello,

I recently upgraded to IE7, and as soon as I did that, I no longer had
access to outlook express! How do I retrieve this, as I no longer have
access to my email.

Cheers,

Sujinder

Why don't you have access? No QuckLaunch Toolbar shortcut, or do you want
the Mail icon on the IE7 Toolbar?

The Read Mail toolbar button is not visible in Internet Explorer 7:

For help with IE7, Please post to the Internet Explorer General Newsgroup.

You should start your own "thread" and not jump into another poster's
request for help. And you should ask a question that you believe is related
to an Internet Explorer upgrade in an appropriate newsgroup or remove the
upgrade via Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.

To get an appropriate newsgroup on the web, click this link (or copy/paste
it into your browser):

I have a feeling that a lot more of this will be appearing now that IE7

A couple more oddities. As I said sometimes the contact list will be there
and sometimes not. The address book always seems to be there however.
Switching back and forth in identities sometimes works. Another thing, before
XP when I was, for instance, using identity #2 and closed outlook express and
then reopened, I would still be in identtiy #2. Now it always goes back to
identity#1. It's been fun. Other problems, XP didn't install the right
drivers for mouse, printer, modem, etc. Worked with MS tech for a couple of
hours to even get to boot up and another time to get to shut down. Grrrrr.
Thanks
Kelly

Contacts for specific identities are all that you will see when you switch
identities unless the Contacts are also added to the Shared Contacts folder.
Each identity normally only "sees" those contacts that are in the Shared
Contacts folder and those that they created while working in that identity.

To change the identity that is the default on opening use the menu,
File/Identities/Manage Identities and define which identity should be used
when the program is opened.

For your other problems that may or may not be related to the installation
of Internet Explorer v. 7, you really should post in this newsgroup:

Jim, I wan't the one that mentioned IE7, I have IE6. I have done most of my
posting in XP general and have had decent results. I checked the option you
mentioned about the default user when opening outlook. That's solved. Not
like ME. Also had a post on photo editor and took care of that problem. Let
me give you a little history. When I started out I had 40G with 11 used and
29 available. After the installation problems with XP not booting up except
in safe mode, I contacted MS by phone and after an hour or so and a lot of
tries he had me go in and change a .sys file to .old and then it booted
finally. When I checked C: drive I noticed that I ended up with 30G used and
9 free. Wow. Later I talked to amother tech because my puter wouldn't shut
down. After another hour or more, he said it was mainly a mouse and keyboard
hardware conflict. Finally it shut down normally. I mentioned the loss of so
much hard drive and he said that was created by the problems of the puter
trying to boot. He sent me to check a box, allow system file to be shown, and
search for files named (found) and delete them. There were about 36. I tried
to delete one and it was too big for the recycle bin so I ended up using
shift. I got 10G back. How do I find the shared contacts folder?
Thanks
Kelly

Shared Contacts are in the Address Book. Take a look at the attached
graphic for an idea of where. You also might want to review the info at
this website for more info about the Address Book:
