Default Predecessors not always working in P2000

When we recently upgraded from Project 98 to Project 2000, some the
predecessors in our templates no longer worked correctly. Worked fine in P98.
Any suggestions on how to correct? Thanks.
P.S. If it makes any difference, some of us have Internet Explorer 6, and
some ie7.

Suggestion: go back to the online user interface that misled you here, and
continue scrolling until you find a newsgroup, or newsgroups, dealing with
Microsoft Project -- this one is devoted to Microsoft Access database
software, and it is not the best place for getting answers about Project.
