Default Unable to open existing report in design view

Any time I click design for an existing report a hour glass displays briefly
but the report does not open. The problem follows me to other workstations
but does not occur for other users, this lead me to believe there is
something going on with the registry.
I backed up ntuser.dat then erased it, sure enough I was able to design
reports again. Unfortunately this killed pretty much everything else so I
restored the registry backup, of course this killed design view again.

Is there a segment of the registry I should look at?

The first thing to check would be to make sure you have default printer
designated in Windows. Maybe try other printers as the default.

I had a default printer but I changed it to another model, that got it to
work. Is there any reason why it wouldn't work with the other printer?

I believe this is usually a printer driver issue. However, I have seen
enough messages in these NGs to not be certain of any cause.
